Richard and Jillian Corbett are a young married couple building parallel careers in Phoenix, Arizona — his in business technology, hers in marketing and event coordination. Both relocated in 2024 to grow professionally, and together they represent a working view of what early-career life in tech and marketing actually looks like.

Two careers, one move

Richard works as a Business Technology Specialist, helping organizations run more efficiently through better systems, software implementation, and workflow improvements. He's drawn to the practical side of artificial intelligence and automation — not the hype, but the question of how a business actually gets faster and cleaner at what it does. His path started with a technology internship in Denver in 2020, continued through a Business Technology Analyst role from 2021 to 2023, and led to Phoenix in 2024.

Jillian works as a Marketing and Events Coordinator, splitting her time between campaign work and the logistics of turning an idea into something people experience in person. She came up through a marketing internship in San Diego, a Marketing Coordinator position, and now her current role in Phoenix, which she's held since 2024. The event side is her favorite part — watching a concept become a room full of people.

Together they moved to Phoenix in 2024 to pursue new roles and figure out, deliberately, what their next years should look like. Outside work, that shows up as hiking, weekend road trips, live events, and a running list of restaurants worth trying around the Valley.
